Ci vediamo, Goldoni! – Album Premiere
Featuring the New Guitar Duo & Guest Set by the Shahab Tolouie Trio
On June 26th, Jazz Dock (Janáčkovo nábřeží 3249/2, 150 00 Prague 5-Smíchov) hosts the release of Shahab Tolouie’s latest project, Ci vediamo, Goldoni!. This album represents the concert version of the music originally written by Shahab as fragments for the Vinohrady Theatre’s production of Carlo Goldoni’s Le baruffe chiozzotte. While the theatre score used shorter sketches to set the mood, Shahab has since developed these ideas into full-scale compositions and brand-new songs that have never been performed or released until now.
The evening’s primary focus is the live premiere of these theatrical soundtracks, performed as a guitar duo by Shahab Tolouie and Tomislav Zvardoň. These arrangements strip the music down to an intimate “seaside conversation” between modern strings and 18th-century Italian folk motifs—a first look at the live performance of the new project.
In the second half of the evening, the energy shifts as the Shahab Tolouie Trio joins as a special guest project with his signature EthnoFlamenco style. This set bridges the gap between the Mediterranean and the Caspian Sea, blending traditional Persian structures with the percussive drive of Flamenco. Featuring Shahab on guitars, Petr Hadr on drums, and Gavrilo Alexic on bass, the Trio will perform selections from previous works including Tango Perso, Terra Mediterranea and Oxymoron.
