Long awaited 2nd full-length album ‘Terra Mediterranea’ featuring original acoustic compositions of Persian and Flamenco fusions written by Shahab Tolouie.
The release is exceptional in that it offers the result of a long-term search for the right balance between technique and dynamic, rhythm changes and simplicity of ancient unison tradition.
“I tried to keep the Middle Eastern side of this music as simple as possible. Persian music and music in the Middle East in general (like many old ones) are unison, which means that they are based mainly on one tone. Adding too many chords and modulations generally makes the result sound like jazz, and I tried to avoid that. Instead, experimented with dynamic and rhythmic changes.”- describes the musician.
