December 14, 2023, Shahab Tolouie releases his new single, ‘Yalda’, a tribute to the ancient Iranian celebration of Shabe Yalda, also known as the Winter Solstice. Through this poignant melody and powerful lyrics artist aims to preserve the traditions of his homeland while introducing them to a wider audience, fostering cross-cultural understanding and igniting a spark of hope for the future.

This captivating composition originated in 2022 during the early days of the Iranian youth movement, fuelling Shahab’s creative spirit. One evening at a Prague cafeteria, journalist and lyricist Mohammad Zarghami shared a freshly written poem dedicated to Yalda Night—a celebration that carries a message of hope. inspired by his words, Shahab seized the moment, spontaneously singing the early version of the song while strolling home. The very next day, he recorded a soulful solo rendition with a guitar, uploading it online. Now, exactly one year later, the official version of this evocative composition is set to release as a single. It will also be featured on the upcoming Shahab Tolouie Trio album, that is currently in production.
